Meet RicochetRicochet is a 2‑year‑old Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix with a heart full of drive and a mouth full of tennis balls — seriously, this boy could play fetch for hours and still be ready for more. If you know Chessies, you know they’re smart, energetic, and deeply loyal, and Ricochet is no exception. He loves people, loves having a job, and loves being part of someone’s day.Shelter life has been stressful for him, and he’s doing everything he can to stay upbeat, but after 7 months with little to no interest, we honestly don’t understand why he’s still here. He’s handsome, fun, eager to please, and ready to give his whole heart to the right person.Ricochet previously lived with another dog and has done well with dogs here.Ricochet has been deemed Potentially Dangerous in Maryland due to repeated incidents of running loose, barking, and behaving aggressively toward other people and dogs. This is not the same as being deemed dangerous—it simply means he’ll need a responsible adopter committed to keeping him safely managed. Each pet also receives a behavioral assessment to help us better understand the type of home they may thrive in. However, it’s important to remember that the results may not fully reflect an animal’s true personality, as shelter and foster environments can be stressful.
