About Darrow

Darrow is a 4-year-old terrier mix who is being rehomed after his owner became very ill very suddenly. This wasn't an easy decision, and Darrow has already been through a lot in his life — including coming from a very sad and scary investigation a couple of years ago. Because of his past, he's looking for a special home that will give him the patience, understanding, and love he truly deserves. ✨ About Darrow: Darrow is reserved and takes time to warm up. He's independent and prefers to come to you when he is ready for affection, but when he does he loves a good chin or back scratch. Once he feels safe, he's incredibly loyal and loving — but he is very wary of strangers and has what we describe as fear-based reactivity. He does best when his boundaries are respected. Fenced in backyard is preferred as this little guys love to sunbathe! Ideal Home: • Calm, adult-only household (females preferred) • Minimal visitors / low-traffic home • No cats • Quiet environment with patient adopters • Would do best with an older, calm dog companion If you think you might be that calm, patient, big-hearted human who understands that love sometimes comes with a little work… Darrow is waiting.
