About TOBY

TOBY is a sweet young Doberman with a gentle heart and a resilient spirit. He had a very difficult start to life, losing his human family one by one until he was left alone in an outdoor kennel. Today, Toby is safe, cared for, and learning what it means to be loved again. Because of his past, Toby can be a little anxious around food and water and may drink a full bowl at once — something his future family can easily support with patience and consistency. Despite everything he's been through, Toby still adores being around friendly dogs and has kept his ability to trust people. His favorite things are zooming around the yard with his best doggy friend and then coming inside for a long, peaceful nap. Doberman experience is preferred. As the breed is known for being athletic and clever climbers, Toby's new home will need a secure play yard with a solid block or 8-foot wall. Toby's adoption fee includes his neuter, vaccines, deworming, and microchip. We believe he is about two years old. Toby would thrive in a home in the Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, White Rock, or Los Alamos area with a stay-at-home person and another friendly dog who enjoys playtime as much as he does. If you think Toby might be a good fit for your family, please email desertpawsnm@gmail.com to check availability and start the application process. We would love to introduce you — and your dogs — to this beautiful boy and help him find the safe, loving home he deserves.
