My name is Howie.I am a male, brown Mixed Breed mix. Age: The shelter staff think I am about 5 years old. More Info: I have been at the shelter since Mar 14, 2026.Sometimes the hardest dogs to see at the shelter are the ones who have never known anything else but a home. Howie is 5 years old, and until recently he had been with the same family his entire life. Due to a change in their living situation, he now finds himself starting over and hoping someone new will give him the second chance he deserves.Howie is a friendly, playful boy who enjoys being around people and being part of everyday life. He has lived with men, women, and even very young children, and he's used to spending his days both inside the home and outside exploring a fenced yard.He already knows some of the basics like sit, lay down, and shake, and his previous family said one of their favorite things about him is that he listens when called.Howie enjoys running, exploring, and playing — but more than anything he just wants to be part of a family again.Right now he's waiting at the shelter, hoping the next person who walks through the door might be his person.Howie is neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested, and vaccinated.
