Meet Sargeant Sargeant is a stunning two-year-old, long-haired dappled mini dachshund who has been on a slow but steady journey of healing. He's young, intelligent, and very workable—but he truly needs a savvy, experienced owner who understands fear-based behaviors. Sargeant came to us after biting children in his previous home, and for everyone's safety, he will need a strict no-kids household. He has bitten several people here as well when approached or handled too quickly. These incidents are rooted in fear, not aggression—when he feels unsafe or overwhelmed, he reacts. $400 adoption fee. Because of this, Sargeant will need to go home in a crate and transition slowly, with patience, structure, and respect for his boundaries. With the right person—someone calm, confident, and committed to earning his trust—Sargeant has the potential to continue improving and live a safe, stable life. He is not an easy dog, but he is worth it—for the right home.
