About Nova

Nova is a sweet and sassy, mixed-breed puppy, born 02/04/2024. She is completely deaf. She is in a foster home with dogs and kids and loves them all! We believe Nova was born fully deaf, and this was confirmed by her vet. Nova is working on learning hand gestures for 'outside', 'sit' and 'lie down'. She is super smart and treat motivated so she's catching on quickly!Nova loves other dogs, but has no sense of warning cues so she must be supervised closely and have dogs with high tolerance for puppy shenanigans. The ideal home for Nova would be with someone with previous experience with deaf dogs. An alternative would be a home with someone who is home most of the time to monitor Nova's wellbeing. Nova will need a fully fenced yard as she is very unaware of dangers and warnings — and she loves to explore and chase moving things. As we learn more, we will be sure and update her needs so stay tuned!The suggested adoption fee for Nova is $365. Bullies-N-Beyond is a 501(c)3, non-profit corporation that is 100% volunteer operated. Adoption donation fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. All dogs adopted through BNBR will have been administered their age appropriate vaccines which may include DHPP, Rabies, Lepto and Bordetella. All dogs will also be adopted out as already altered if of age, for those not of age, a voucher will be provided. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. BNBR does not adopt on a first serve basis. All available dogs are adopted based on their needs to provide the best fit home.
