The new shelter opened in February 2010. At that time , the Shelter manager had resigned and no new person had been hired. FCHS volunteers were instrumental in the move from the old shelter to the new one. We were still not entirely welcomed or appreciated, but the PD needed us and therefore encouraged us to participate.
