ATHENS COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY

We were founded in 1910. In the past, we had a shelter with a paid shelter manager. Currently, we no longer have a shelter or physical location, and we are an all-volunteer organization. There are about ten board members, and we have a monthly board meeting. We focus on cat and dog adoptions and spay/neuter by offering two to three low-cost clinics per month and discounted pricing to clients with financial assistance. We are within a county full of low-income, rural residents. Cat overpopulation
